Admit That You Have Sinned

Romans 3:23: for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  Romans 6:23: for the wages of sin is death, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Repent: Be Truly Sorry For Your Sins

Acts 3:19: Repent ye therefore, and be converted that your sins may be blotted out.

Confess: Willingly To The Sins We Have Committed

I John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us of our sins and all unrighteousness.

Forsake: STOP doing those things that are un-Godly (by the Grace and Strength of God) and leave from those that pull you away from God.

Isaiah 55:7:  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him.

Believe: Believe that you are a new person through Jesus’ death and resurrection power which paid the price for your salvation.

Romans 10:9:  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  Acts 16:31: And they said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

Accept: By faith, freely receive Jesus into your heart and your gift of salvation

John 1:12: But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.

John 6:37: All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Revelation 3:20: Behold I stand at the door and knock, if any man (this means you) hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup (abide) with him and he with Me.

Luke 12:8: Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him shall the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God.

 1.      You have become a child of God! John 1:12: But as many as received Him, to them gave He power (or the privilege) to become the sons of God even to them that believe on His name.

2.      Your sins are forgiven! To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.

3.      You have passed from death to life.  John 5:24: Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.

DON’T do anything that will not glorify God.

I Corinthians 19:31: Don’t try to discover how little Christ will accept but how much.  I Chronicles 4:10 The best man is an unsafe example so follow Jesus.  Jeremiah 17:5

Seek at once power from on high. Luke 24:29; Acts 2:39, 4:31

What You Should Now Do As A Child of God

1.      You should be baptized.  Acts 10:48; And He commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.

2.      You should read your bible daily.  Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.

3.      Spend time in His presence praising and praying.  Luke 18:1 Men ought always to pray, and faint not.

4.      When conscious of having failed Him, confess it.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.  I John

5.       Be a witness to others.  Acts 1:8 Ye shall be witnesses.

6.      Meet regularly with older Christians. Hebrew 10:25 Not forsaking the       assembling of ourselves together.

7.      Fill you life with good works.  Titus 3:8

 SANCTIFICATION

: become free from sin; Make holy

Sanctify them through thy word. John 17:17

“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification.”  I Thes. 4:3

Now that you have become a new child in Christ you must become sanctified:

A.     Separated from the world and its lusts.

B.     Set aside for God and His service.

This is not a definite and instantaneous work of Grace: but a continual process necessary for our spiritual growth.

These help you in securing your sanctification:

 God the Father: Jude 1:1

“…to them that are sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ.

Christ the Son: Hebrew 13:12  “Wherefore Jesus also, the He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without (outside the city) the gate.

The Holy Spirit:  II Thes. 2:13 “Because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.

The Blood:  I John 1:7 “and the blood of Jesus Christ His son cleanses us from all sin.

The Holy Word (Bible): Ephesians 5:26 “That He might sanctify it with the washing of water by the Word.

 WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU

I Thes. 4:3,4 “This is the will of God even your sanctification.  Isaiah 1:16

“...wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes, cease to do evil, learn to do well.

Sanctification is something that we must pursue, or seek earnestly if we are to obtain it.  While it is God’s work we have our part in it: to make it the object of our earnest desire and pursuit.  We attain sanctification through presenting our members as servants (literally slaves) to righteousness and becoming ourselves bondservants unto God.

 RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST

(“… The Spirit of God like a Dove...”  Matt 3:16)

The Holy Spirit. Who He is:

1.      Executive of the Trinity through which the plan of salvation is carried on in the earth.  John 14:16

2.      Co-equal in power with the Father and Son.  I John 5:7

3.      Proceed from the Father and the Son. John 15:26

What He does to the World

John 16:8-11

1.      Reproves the world of its sins.

2.      Warns the world of the judgment to come.

What He does to the saint

Comfort: John 14:16-18 “and He shall give you another comforter”

Teaches: John 14:26 “He shall teach you all things.”

Guides: John 16:13 “He will guide you into all truth.”

Intercedes: Romans 8:26 “The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us.

HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST

 1.      Ask your Heavenly Father in faith. Luke 11:13 “how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?”

2.      Believe according to the scripture John 7:38 “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (Holy Spirit)

3.      Obedience to God: Acts 5:32 “And we are His witness of these things and so is the Holy Ghost whom God has given to them that obey Him.”

4.      Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. John 20:22 “He breathed on them and saith to them, receive ye the Holy Ghost.”

 EVIDENCE OF HIS BAPTISM

Acts 19:6, 10:46, and 4:31,33

Acts 2:4 “And they were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
